Ron has been an independent mortgage broker for over five years, and prior to starting his own business, worked as a loans manager for a leading bank. As much as he enjoyed the job, he became frustrated at the bank’s approach to customers. He felt his role was more about sales and profit, instead of customer service and building long-term relationships. This lead him to strike out alone, starting Ron Ahern Financial Lending so he could do the job properly. Ron has now written over $200 million in loans, and this, combined with 20 years experience dealing with the ATO, has given Ron an impressive, well-balanced financial background. Feedback like “down to earth, easy to talk to, professional and knowledgeable” are commonplace from his clients. In his spare time, he likes to take on different home improvement projects and refers to himself as the “ white-collar carpenter”. Ron is a passionate Richmond Tigers member and only misses a game when they clash with his son playing local footy.

After 30 years as a senior administrator with the ATO, Sally-Ann never envisaged working with her husband in the mortgage industry. Ron’s SOS pleas eventually paid off (just like many, many years ago when they’d first met) and she, once again, came to his rescue. Sally-Ann is an administrative guru, with a keen eye for detail and timeliness (she's everything Ron is not)! Behind the scenes, Sally-Ann is responsible for processing loan applications and meeting compliance needs. One of her most important roles is keeping the lenders organised and honest. She spends considerable time ensuring approvals are received, documents are sent and settlements booked. Presently working three days a week, Sally-Ann also has time to see a weekly movie and attend every concert or comedy act ever to visit Melbourne! Oh, and run a household with three males

2017 saw Connor return to full-time university at Latrobe Uni. Studying Bachelor of Business takes up most of his time but Connor still manages to assist the business with marketing material and data base mining. Connor plays senior football with Moonee Valley Football Club in the EDFL and also works part time with Sportsmart in Northcote. Who knows, one day RAFL may become CAFL!.

After many years in the hospitality industry, Mitchell wanted a change in career and saw an opportunity arise in Ron’s growing Mortgage business. Seeking to further his knowledge in this industry Mitchell is currently undertaking a Certificate IV in Mortgage Broking and Finance. Mitchells role in the business involves data entry, lodging loans, ordering valuations, getting paperwork ready for signing, following up with clients and keeping them in the loop, and anything Ron needs help with.
